Scuba Diving in Nilandhoo Kandu
Location: Nilandhoo Channel
This channel is a popular dive site. Of particular note is the abundance of grey reef sharks, green & hawksbill turtles, eagle rays and stingrays, Napoleon wrasse and red bass.
Coral life: Lots of boulder corals inside the channel.
Marine life: Large schools of fish, many hawksbill and green turtles, big Napoleon wrasse, grey reef sharks, white tip and black tip reef sharks and eagle rays can often be spotted here.
Dive technique: This dive site will have two type of currents; incoming or outgoing. During incoming current it is best to jump out side atoll and follow the current inside while giving time to wait in the corner to witness the school of sharks and rays activities. For outgoing current, simply jump from inside the channel and drift to outside wall.
